2008-04-28 - Product - Audemat to release software V1.5 for Goldeneagle HD
Major improvements for the #1 HD monitor in the market
Bordeaux-Mérignac, France – Wednesday, April 02, 2008, AUDEMAT  announced in advance of the NAB2008 that they are releasing software version 1.5 for the Goldeneagle HD. “This release includes major new features for AM users, and significant enhancements for FM, making the Goldeneagle HD a very complete, unique, high-end HD Monitor.” states Christophe Poulain, Executive Vice President of Audemat Inc. This is the last software update that will be provided at no charge by AUDEMAT. Future software releases will be covered under a service contract or purchased individually. The new software version will be showcased on the Audemat booth N7932 at NAB2008.

New AM Functions:
Goldeneagle HD now includes modulation monitoring for AM frequencies in both real time and recorded measurements. Both negative and positive AM Modulation are measured. This information is available using the PC software or the touch screen. Goldeneagle HD also can make a scan and detect all stations on the AM band (whether analog or digital). The user can add frequencies to the list of stations to be monitored by clicking on the chart generated by the market scan. To perform these new functions, the existing units must have the spectrum analyzer option installed.
Improvements for FM:
The Goldeneagle HD software V1.5 improves the effective resolution bandwidth (RBW) of the spectrum analyzer to 1 kHz! This is a major step in compliance with NRSC 5A measurement standard. Fixed and mobile markers are also now available on the spectrum analyzer display.
General improvements:
The SMTP page has been enhanced to allow user control of the subject line and the first line of the body of alarm e-mails.

2008-04-28 - Product - Audemat to launch Navigator DVB S/H at NAB 2008
The first portable equipment on the market for DVB S/H measurement
Bordeaux-Mérignac, France – Wednesday, April 02, 2008, AUDEMAT (www.audemat.com) announced that they are introducing at NAB2008 on their booth N7932 the NAVIGATOR DVB S/H. It is the first test and measurement equipment for lab and field use in DVB-SH. This unit is the result of an R&D from Alcatel-Lucent to develop test and Measurement for DVB-SH. The NAVIGATOR DVB-SH has been designed to perform mobile measurement campaigns for DVB-T, DVB-H and DVB-SH networks and is compatible with S-UMTS and VHF/UHF bands. This portable equipment can be used either in a vehicle moving at normal speed or by a pedestrian (indoors or outdoors). The NAVIGATOR DVB-SH includes a high quality receiver for accurate DVB-SH measurements. When the mobile measurement campaign is finished, the DVB Reader software automatically performs a quality analysis: all the essential parameters are compared to standardized values and an overall quality indicator is generated (Good, Average or Bad). These indicators can also be displayed on a map, so that users can evaluate instantaneously their coverage quality. In addition the NAVIGATOR DVB-SH can be used for installation of DVB-SH terrestrial repeaters that complement satellite coverage. “The NAVIGATOR DVB-SH is the first mobile test and measurement equipment DVB-SH-by-Alcatel approved on the market” States Jean-Baptiste Roux VP of Sales for Audemat. “It is capable of measuring and determining the reception quality of a mobile DVB-H and DVB-SH TV signal”. This unit has been developed in partnership with Teamcast and UDCAST, two DVB specialists (Audemat and Teamcast), part of the Alcatel DVB-SH work group. Audemat used its expertise in mobile Test and Measurement systems to develop a laboratory type equipment that remains rugged and user friendly. This unit targets TELCO operators or manufacturers like Alcatel (France), Orange (France), ICO (USA) or Broadcasters such as RAI (Italy) or SFR (France) that are working on pilot projects for mobile TV broadcasting in DVB-SH. Several DVB-SH deployments are happening around the world at this time. “The NAVIGATOR DVB-SH is the first unit of its kind which combines laboratory grade equipment for transmitter installation and validation of the transmitter’s settings; and mobile test equipment to mesure the quality of reception” state Nicolas Boulay VP R&D for Audemat. “This product is very important for the US market with the coming introduction of DVB-SH by ICO and other operators” States Christophe Poulain, VP of Sales for Audemat Inc. Audemat will be organizing some tests with ICO during the NAB show.
