- Audemat-Aztec announces that the FMB80 supports the RT + (Radio Text Plus) application - FMB80 RDS encoder remains the leading choice in RDS encoders.
Audemat-Aztec is pleased to confirm that its RDS Encoder FMB80 supports the Radio Text Plus (RT+) standard recently tested in Seattle, WA. The FMB80 is fully compliant with the RDS/RBDS standard and supports ODA (Open Data Applications). This enables the FMB80 to support any kind of new applications like RT+ without any modifications or additions to the encoder. The purpose of RT+ is to enable FM RDS equipped receivers to display information such as Artist and Track details for songs, news headlines, information about the radio station, etc. RT + also allows the receiver to store other information such as web links, phone numbers etc…for easy access by the user. RT+ was developed by Nokia, broadcaster Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) and the research institute IRT. Audemat-Aztec started working with Nokia 2 years ago by supplying RDS equipment and technical support for their laboratory testing.
