- US market: Audemat-Aztec expands its mobile FM metering range products with the NAVIGATOR 007 - Audemat-Aztec introduces a new portable FM field strength meter at the NAB.
The NAVIGATOR 007 is an affordable FM field strength meter with a built-in modulation, pilot, RBDS monitor.
It is delivered with an external GPS receiver for mobile RF survey on a single FM station. While driving, RF readings and GPS coordinates are recorded on a laptop.
After the campaign, results can be visualized as a text file and be exported to mapping or predictive software.
"We have received a lot of requests from contract engineers and radio stations in small and medium size markets for an affordable FM metering tool. They wanted a unit enabling them to check the coverage of one transmitter, the good running of a RBDS generator or to simply look at the modulation level. At $3300, we provide with all these features in a portable and accurate unit", said Christophe Poulain, Vice-President of Audemat-Aztec Inc.
The Audemat-Aztec FM metering product range also includes the NAVIGATOR 100 and the FM Explorer software for mobile RF survey on multi stations with automatic overlay on Microsoft Map Point cartographic software and the FMMC4, the expertise tool including the Goldenear software for quality of reception analysis.

- The FMB80 will add new features and they will be displayed at the NAB.
All these new developments will bring more flexibility and capabilities in term of Scrolling PS and Radio Text messages display.
"Song titles and artist information coming from the automation software can be automatically wrapped around with text. The text can be customized and configured through a new HTML web page we have in the FMB80. Also, an internal scheduler has been designed to display messages at specific time of the day. This feature is actually very useful when broadcasting talk shows or news", said Christophe Poulain, Vice-President of Audemat-Aztec Inc.
All these features would be available soon and could be uploaded via FTP to the FMB80 RDS generator.
Existing customers will get the firmware update free of charge.
